Some furnishing errors can jeopardize the atmosphere of the house by making it seem untidy even when in fact it is not. Here’s what they are and how to fix them
Have you spent time, effort and money on the furniture in your home and now it seems hopelessly messy ? Easier than you think.
Often, taken by enthusiasm and the desire to create our perfect corner of the world, we get carried away and end up making some mistakes, which are very trivial in themselves, but which affect the overall result.
Don’t worry though. It is easy to identify where the problem is and even more to remedy it.
Here, some furnishing mistakes to avoid to have a house always in order. Key words: minimalism !
- Arrange the furniture poorly
Arrange the furniture all stuck if the room is small , or at sidereal distances if space is so much, are two behaviors that equally give the idea of disorder and “wrong”. Don’t be in a hurry and don’t get carried away by shopping! Carefully evaluate the spaces, the proportions and the functions to buy the right and furnish a perfectly ordered home.
- Use too many colors
To furnish a room harmoniously it is essential to choose a narrow color palette – 3, 4 shades at the most – to combine with each other. Without respecting this simple rule the chaos effect is assured. The ideal is to choose two neutral tones and place one, or at most two more vivid colors.
- Hang too many paintings on the walls (wrong way)
Hanging paintings and pictures on the walls is a real art and doing it randomly is a common mistake and unfortunately often overlooked. The ideal is to first choose all the frames you intend to hang and “put them on trial” on a table or on the floor, to evaluate the overall dimensions and to make the most of them. Once you have chosen the ideal pattern, you can then proceed to plant the nails.
